ICLS has been successfully providing English as a Second Language (ESL) classes since 1998. All of our instructors have a university degree and professional ESL qualifications that are recognized by TESL Ontario. The instructors also have experience teaching ESL learners at different levels of language ability. The director of ICLS has provided language training for ESL teachers and has developed ESL programs for more than 15 years. You will be joining a task-based communicative language program that will take into account the needs and interests of every learner. You can attend programs that offer instruction 30 hours per week, 20 hours per week or 10 hours per week. The 10 hour program may be taken during the morning or the afternoon. Basic ESL and test preparation classes for TOEIC are provided by teachers who have many years of experience. They will teach you the strategies and the knowledge that you will require to be successful.

ICLS has teachers who specialize in preparing students to be more successful SPEAKERS, LISTENERS and WRITERS. When you join one of our specialized programs, the teacher will involve you in communicative, interactive classroom activities. You will increase your ability and your confidence to speak, write and understand English. The classroom activities will be relevant and useful. Each day you will experience an improvement in your language ability. In the listening class you will learn to understand a TV program or news report. In the speaking class you will improve your accent and be more comfortable making a presentation or having a conversation with a Canadian. The writing program will give you opportunities every day to write about business or academic topics. You will be impressed with how quickly your language will improve.

ICLS has just renovated the entire school. Air-conditioned classrooms provide a comfortable learning environment. For your convenience there is a student lounge with relaxing furniture and computers that give you free internet access. We are just a three minute walk from the subway (public transportation) and our school is located in a well-maintained office building.

HOMESTAY

ICLS is committed to placing students with homestay families that offer a safe and friendly environment. With the homestay family you will be able to practice your English and learn about Canada's customs and traditions.

ACTIVITIES

On the weekends and after school, ICLS will arrange for you to visit many interesting places in and around Toronto. Toronto is a very interesting city in which to live and ICLS will make you more familiar with the attractions and unique cultural aspects of the city.
